New petition to protect animals from barn fires in Quebec
Since 2015, nearly half a million animals have lost their lives in barn fires in Quebec. Statistics from the Quebec Ministry of Public Safety indicate an average of four barn fires per week. The absence of fire safety standards to protect farmed animals means they are less protected than the inert materials among which they are counted when the economic toll of the fires are calculated.
Because of these dire statistics, we’ve joined with Québec Animal Law (DAQ) to launch a petition which is now available on the website of the Québec National Assembly. The petition is open to everyone, regardless of where you live. Please help us by signing and sharing it widely as it will only be available until June 3rd, 2020. Thank you!
