Last week, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced that two factory farms in B.C.’s Fraser Valley tested positive for avian influenza. Testing found the virus at a turkey farm in Abbotsford and a broiler chicken breeding facility in Chilliwack. Following the announcement,  three more Fraser Valley farms were subsequently quarantined. More than 140,000 birds are set to be euthanized as a result.
